Certain cleaning businesses charge an hourly rate, which means that the price you pay for each visit may vary depending on how dirty your house is that week. Typically, those who charge by the hour will see the house in full before you hire them; This allows them to see the size, design and general cleaning of your house to give you an estimate of what that cleaning will cost as well as continuous service quotes, whether weekly, biweekly or monthly.

The price per hour usually stays the same at each visit if you request continuous services, but the first cleaning will cost more because it will take longer. Cleaning prices will usually be consistent from week to week or month to month, unless you have a particularly messy party or other unusual situation.

Types of house cleaning

Standard cleaning: includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning dust and tidying

Deep Cleaning - Cleans dirt more deeply in bedrooms, bathrooms, living rooms, and kitchens. It can also include refrigerators, lamps, windows, and other hard-to-reach areas

Moving Cleanup: Prepare to move your home with a complete cleaning that includes walls, cabinets, and other areas that you have not cleaned since you moved

Event cleaning: a complete cleaning after an event or party: cleaning dirty dishes, cleaning the living room and taking out the trash is usually included

Depending on what you need, you may want different types of cleaning service at different times. Deep house cleaning is a good choice for an annual cleaning or after a home remodel, when dust is everywhere. Event cleaning can help you clean the house before or after a major event, and cleaning moves to and from a home can make it clean again.

Here are some examples of when you would need a deep cleaning, as opposed to a standard cleaning

When you or your family suffer more allergies. Dust, mites and other allergens can be reduced with deep cleanings that remove dirt from all cracks and crevices

The walls have dirt marks

There is a layer of dust on the ceiling fans

The interior of the oven is unusually dirty

The fridge and freezer are moldy

You recently did a home remodel or renovation and you have dust everywhere

Cabinet interiors need cleaning

Professionals might differentiate their services differently, so always ask for the details of each cleaning job before it starts, and ask about pricing for special requests. Make sure you have a written copy of the contract detailing the general day and time of cleaning and the tasks to be performed.
